UIDAI allows customers of Aadhaar cards to change their address, without the need for documentation. Aadhaar card holders can update their address, as long as they accept the authenticity of the address verifier. A verifier of address could be a friend, relative landlord, family member or even a friend who allows the Aadhaar card holder to use their address as proof.
UIDAI has stopped the feature. UIDAI replied to an Aadhaar Card owner via Twitter, stating that the ability to update the address on the Aadhaar Card using an Address Validation Form was canceled. UIDAI has asked to the Aadhaar issuer to remind users to update their address with another legitimate PoA document.
Dear Resident Dear Resident: The service for the Address Validation Letter service has been removed until further notice. Kindly request your address update using another valid PoA document from the list https://t.co/BeqUA0pkqL
